Thanks for the info about how to reach the boss!! Going to play through it again and get to it :)

Hi! The game is fun, but I don't know when I am supposed to fight the boss. Is it when you reach a certain number of enemies defeated? So far the endless runner seemed... well, endless. Also, if you mash the shift key to sprint, you can sprint endlessly and it does not consume extra energy! Also had some issues at first with the slight offset of the bullets, but got used to it quickly.

Overall pretty nice game, the random lines of dialogue while playing are amazing. Thanks for your submission!

Sorry for the lack of tutorial and visual cues :( We did not get to work in UX at all. The game page has a short explanation, and when we get some free time we will work in the game to finish it the way we intended to. In the meantime, we will also update the game page to better explain the gameplay. Thanks for stopping by!

This is a really nice game, and the bullet hell desing is on point! As criticism, besides the checkpoints (I know other comments have brought up the issue. sorry for being repetitive), I would have swapped the order of some bosses, because bosses 2 and 3 I have defeated first try both the times I got to them, but I had a harder time fighting the first boss. The fourth boss I could not defeat and gave up :P

Congratulations to the team!

This game is a blast! The leaderboard fits perfectly for this style of gameplay, it made me want to play each map several times to try and beat some scores.

Thanks for this great submission!

Thanks for playing and the feedback :) Btw I really loved playing "The Last Shell"! Your team did an amazing job!

There were some difficult sections (the one with the short rectangles of water that you have to dash and land on), but I managed the beat the game in 5:30 and 23 deaths :)

I'm glad the download is fixed, because this is an excellent platformer! Also I did not encounter any bugs, and the only "issue" I had is that it is hardwired in my brain that the up arrow will make the character jump, so I sometimes fell into the abyss because insted of pressing "C" I just walked off the edge and pressed "UP" lol.

Congratulations for making such a good game :) It's a lot of fun!

Agh, I searched for it in Roaming but tried to find something along the lines of /Catfish x) Thanks for helping me out! Going to play it right now :)

We really appreciate all your feedback! We had some player feedback and UX in mind, but did not manage to implement it in time.  Thank you for taking the time to play the game and give criticism!

Sorry for the lack of tutorial :( We added a short explanation in the game's page. Thanks for stopping by!

This game's amazing! Really nice atmosphere and original gameplay. I found it pretty challenging, but enjoyed it thoroughly :)

One of my favourite games this jam, amazing work and congratulations to the team!!

This is a great game! Clear mechanics with a nice tutorial and a tight time limit that makes it fair.

The only problem I encountered is the game's screen resolution. The game window did not fit any of my monitors, and the right border of the window appeared in my second monitor (I don't know what would happen if I opened the game with only one monitor. This made it so I could barely see the serving plate, and I could not anticipate the orders of the customers waiting in line.

Besides that, I'm glad I found this submission and had a good time playing. Congratulations to the team!

It says there's no download/is unavailable :( If you fix the download, please respond to this comment so I get notified to play your game!

Hello there! I'll try to explain my experience without spoiling anything. I opened the game and could not figure out how to play (the console buttons don't stand out from the background so I thought they were just decoration), so I opened the game page and found out how to play. However, it took me a bit of time and when I came back to the game, the "history had progressed" and the game keeps the state saved, so I missed on the opportunity to play completely (I've tried to mouse-click everything on the screen and click keys at random). I could probably search for the data and remove it from my pc to play from the beginning, but that's too much a hustle :( It's a shame because the art, ambience and concept look really good.

I suggest, at least in the context of a GameJam, to add a restart option so nobody misses out on trying the game. If there's an easy way to fix this and allow me to play the game, please respond to my comment and I'll give it another go!

Nice game! The only issue I had is that sometimes, when the ball fell, the game over screen did not trigger and I had to restart. Besides that, it's a fun game! It's so satisfying when the ball gets between two algae and destroys them immediately :)

Really good game, one of my favourites so far! Could not finish it because I get frustrated easily, so these kind of games are not my cup of tea. Personal preferences aside, your team made a fantastic job and deserve praise!

Had a great time playing! It's challenging at first but once you get used to the enemies movement and the weapon recoil, it's a fair fight. To give some criticism, I think the player damaged sound doesn't fit the atmosphere. Also the hearts UI hides behind the giant enemy.

It's a really good submission, congratulations!

Hi! If you click the screen while playing, the game bugs and shows the menu. The small screen makes it pretty difficult to react to the fish and catch them in time, or dodge the dead fish.

Although the game can be improved, it's always nice to present a submission to the GameJam. Congratulations and keep it up!

Simple but really fun. I spent quite a bit of time playing it and trying to get high scores! The menu and in-game art is just too cute :)

Really nice job, it's a great game!

The concept and mechanics are appealing to me, but I'm not really good at the game and get frustrated easily :') It's probably meant to be a difficult-to-master game, but I just could not finish it.

Maybe it's not suited for me, but it's still a good submission!

Thanks for playing our game!

Slow movement and not having free all-directional movement made later enemy waves a little overwhelming .

Cool concept and fun game! Main criticism would be the lack of feedback to the player when hitting enemies.

Good job and thanks for the submission!

Cute, relaxing an fun game! I believe in Pog Fish supremacy. Nice fishing mechanic, it's quick so I didn't mind having to catch duplicates of fish to get to the rare ones :)

I enjoyed the game. Congratulations, it's a great submission!

What a great and fun game! It was a pleasant surprise that each level had its own mechanic, and it's a really nice design touch that all 3 of them are just different effects of a pufferfish inflating/deflating.

The game's also really cute, and little details like the hover effect in the main menu are appreciated. Congratulations for such a good entry!

Thank you very much!

Hi! Glad you liked it :) Yes, it's missing a tutorial and feedback for the player :( we are working on it, though! Thanks for playing!

This is extremely original and really cool. Plus making a networking game in the short time that a GameJam provides is a challenging decision, but it's always great to find a game that does. The lack of the tutorial makes things a bit messy, but after some playtesting it's not that hard to figure out.

I think the biggest flaw is that there seems to be no limit on the fish monstrocity you're building.

This is a great game, and one of the most original I've seen this GameJam, so congratulations to the team!

Hey, thank you for stopping by! I agree, one big flaw our game has is the lack of tutorial or hints directed at the player. We are taking notice of the feedback, so we appreciate your comment!

I beat the game and had a great time! The concept is really funny, and the platforming is nicely designed. I encountered some bugs: some minor, like animations breaking and having legs while inside water, and some game-breaking, like the character getting stuck on the surface of the water while jumping out and having to restart the game (jumping outside the water seems to be the most bug triggering mechanic). For this reason, I always recommend having an emergency button/key that opens the menu or closes the game, just in case the player gets stuck and can't advance the game loop.

Besides those problems, it's a nice game and a solid submission. Congrats!

Entertaining game! The effect of the bullet's impact is well done, it feels powerful when you hit an enemy.

Obviously, it would benefit from enemy and weapons variety, or some other mechanics besides shooting, but there's very little time in a GameJam. Enemies could also have been other type of fish instead of slimes, to better fit the theme of the jam.

It's a fun game and a job well done!

"Time taking, scaleless, fish" :').

Fun game! Wish it were a little longer, but it is a GameJam after all. Nice entry, congratulations!

Hi! I'm a fan of card-based roguelikes, so this entry is really appealing to me! However, I'm having some problems playing the game and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. It seems as if not winning the match on turn 1 makes me able to use both my cards AND the opponents', and the turn cannot progress, so the game loop gets blocked. The game doesn't have an exit button (from what I've seen and tried out) and I have to manually restart the game.

The cards are nicely designed (really like the use of keywords and the short descriptions), same with the HUD except maybe the card placement and order, which I personally found a little confusing. Also the pixel art is quite good for a non-artist!

Here is a list of things that would make the game a more enjoyable experience, at least for me:

  • Add a QUIT/Menu button/key  that can exit the game/get back to main menu. It's really important for non-web games (even more if fullscreen) to have some kind of emergency-button in case the game loop gets blocked and the player cannot progress.
  • It seems to force me to play all cards in my hand to be able to finish my turn. I can select the order in which the cards are played, so I have come to realize that maybe it's a desing choice to force the player to make the best use of its cards, regardless if you don't really want to use it. If that's the case, it would be nice to explain it in the game page or an in-game tutorial.

I hope this is not too big of a comment, but I really wanted to play more of the game so I think it's nice to give some criticism! Going to try to get past turn 2 right now, if the bug does not trigger for some reason.

Anyway, thanks for the submission!

Thanks for playing our game! :)

Good game! To give some criticism, it felt like enemies took too many hits to kill, and it would have been more dynamic for them to die sooner but deal more damage or attack faster. I also didn't find the melee attack that effective, although that might just be my preference.

Great entry overall, your team did a fantastic work :)

Really liked the game but could not finish it (8/10 gems) because the yellow one which you had to unlock by headbutting a projectile 2 times was too hard for me. Except for the headbutt mechanic, which I find a little frustrating, the rest of the game is amazing and I've had an enjoyable time exploring and reaching the depths with the fluorescent algae.

Fantastic atmosphere and great game. Hope I could've finished it, but congratulations to the team for the submission! :)

Hey, the gameplay is really creative! It took me a bit to get used to the controls and figure out how to properly get the worms out of the hooks, but that was the fun of it!

Fantastic game! Really cute design and the squishy physics with pixel art look really cute and stupid with the blobfish (what an ugly, big dumb guy).

This is one of the games I've enjoyed the most. Thanks for the submission and great job!

Since it is a visual novel, it would benefit from better dialogue boxes and font/text color (for better readability) as well as formatted text. Also, there's really no way to immediately tell (other than logic) when it is the characters that are talking or if an event is being described.

Thanks for the submission!

Download is unavailable. I'll play it when the game page is updated with the download fixed!
